Creative Memoirs

So, I’m launching the 2019 incarnation of one my favorite groups - Creative Memoirs. I’m offering this workshop at the Shames JCC on the Hudson, where I direct mental health services part-time. I love how the participants bring their own creative perspectives to the notion of memoir, breaking out of the narrow confines of straightforward narrative.

My course description welcomed this, but I am still happily surprised when participants are so willing to trust their unique creative voice.

If you’re able to get to Tarrytown on Fridays 1:00 PM – 2:15 PM from October 4 – November 8, please join us! However, I still wanted to make some of the course materials available here. To that end, I’m going to share the bibliography I provide the class. On the first day, I present a box of all these fantastically different forms of memoir, to expand our horizons and inspire us to discover how we’d best like to tell our stories.
